UNA RAGNVALDSDOTTIR
Una Ragnvaldsdottir usually portrays a Norse woman from Hedeby, a
large trading settlement in south Denmark, now Germany, around the end
of the 10th century.
She is a young widow, of middle income and has two children from her
marriage. Like all women during this time, Una spends a lot of time
spinning wool and making clothes for her family and the Fjellborg clan.
Una has gotten pretty good at making clothes and earns additional
income as a seamstress. Her greatest ambition is setting up a vertical
loom of her own. Una is newly converted to Christianity and is
frequently found in company of the monk/missionary who converted her,
Galchobhar. |
